Josh McAlear has been tattooing in and around Boston since 2002. After attending school for illustration and eventually deciding against freelancing, he jumped at the offer for a tattoo apprenticeship as soon as tattooing was legalized around that same time.
After five years of tattooing and becoming unsatisfied with seeing the same old tattoo imagery done over and over he decided to look to producing album cover art in his free time as an additional source of artistic inspiration. Since then Josh has illustrated many album covers as well as shirts and band logos, while still keeping busy tattooing full time.
Though black and grey illustrative imagery is his favorite subject to tattoo he tries to remain versatile and make sure the customer is happy at the end of the day.
